This calculator projects your retirement balance by growing your current savings and monthly contributions at your expected annual return, month by month, from your current age until your retirement age.

Turning on inflation adjustment doesn't change how the money grows - it changes how the final number is presented. The nominal (unadjusted) balance is divided by the effect of inflation compounding over the same number of years, giving you an estimate of what that balance would be worth in today's dollars.

This is a projection, not a guarantee - actual investment returns vary year to year and can be negative in any given year, even if the long-run average is positive. Use it to compare scenarios (more savings now vs. later, higher vs. lower contributions) rather than as a precise forecast.
